Reviews:
In The Freckle Monster: Freckles the Bunny Series, Book #6, Freckles is a special little bunny. She is smart, caring and very creative. Her latest project was to create a ‘Stop Bullying’ poster for school. All of the students were participating and the principal would choose the best poster to be highlighted on the local news. Freckles was sure that her poster would win. She was very proud of her poster. But her poster didn’t win. Her best friend, Stew, had her poster chosen. As the news reporter interviewed Stew about her poster, Freckles fumed about not winning the contest. Her jealousy turned to revenge and soon Freckles was no longer the caring bunny that everyone loved; she was the mean bully bunny that made everyone mad at each other. Can Freckles be stopped? As a child, author Vickianne Caswell had been bullied. Her daughter and co-author, Erika-Elizabeth Caswell, had also been bullied. Many of Freckles' experiences were based on events that happened in their lives. It’s sad to think that jealousy can fester to the point where everyone is mad and vengeful at each other. Using colorful illustrations, realistic scenarios and dialogue, and a once beloved family member (Freckles the bunny) the authors have created a powerful story about the very serious issue of bullying. Well done! Reviewed By Emily-Jane Hills Orford for Readers’ Favorite
