Meet Daniel - Illustrator/Designer

Bio: Daniel is a graphic designer currently living and working out of Lake Country, BC. Originally from Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, Dan has traveled across much of Canada over the years expanding his arts training. After having spent a year at Sheridan Arts Collage in Oakville, Ontario, Dan then moved to Vancouver Island in BC to complete his bachelors degree majoring in graphic design at Vancouver Island University. Upon graduation, Dan then apprenticed as a tattoo designer for a year and a half, further honing his technical skills as an artist. Eventually he would leave this position as lead designer to launch a freelancing design company.
Daniel’s background as a traditional sketch artist has given him a tremendous understanding of form, movement, and proportion. This strong base has allowed Dan to easily transition his artistic style to all types of media, painting, sculpture, and digital artwork. Now, armed with a keen understanding of digital software programs Dan is able to offer an almost endless array of illustrative styles from simple cartooning to the most complex visual landscapes you can imagine.
Dan may specialize in illustration, but he is also an accomplished web and print designer. Most of Daniel’s designs have combine various elements of his skill sets to create custom work that complement the project as a whole. This has often included things like; photography to enhance a website, illustrations to help retain audience attention and understanding, or the use of design ratios to guide an viewers eye through print material. This cross disciplinary approach to design helps ensure that Dan’s work can stand alone as both a great piece of functional design and a beautiful captivating piece of art.

Bio: Vickianne Caswell began in the publishing business when she wanted to publish her first book, "Freckles the Bunny Series, Book # 1: Freckles is Scared of School." She looked into publishers but found that known publishers were hard to get works published especially if a writer wrote a children's series. Many wanted a resume of the writing and sales projections. Along the way, there were some offers but from companies who either wanted a payment or who made you sell the books at an outrageous fee. It was then that she decided that this was not for her and that she would publish on her own. This began in 2012.

Finding a publisher was not an easy attempt. She began to inquire with different companies that a person paid to publish the work (while you did the selling yourself). She found that due to there being illustrations, prices varied from over $1000 a book.

Vickianne has since published 7 books, one of which is in the children's chapter book series. She has spent much time and effort working on promoting, selling and designing various things for her books such as website, cover designs, book cover ideas (and illustrations), videos, etc. She has been told many times by other authors that she has progressed a lot further then many others and often hears that she has a gift for writing.

Getting going, being noticed, publishing a book, none of that is an easy task. She knows this and that is why she wanted to start offering some low service fees to help you.

Vickianne is currently taking classes in marketing to better help clients sell their products and improve the skills she has now.
