Mystery Party Questions
What are they?
It is a game that you play with many people in a small area. Guests are given a character to play which comes with costume ideas. The game can be run along with a dinner or just snacks. During each round, something happens. Guests receive clue cards to ask each other questions and mingling is encouraged. Usually after the first or second round, the mystery/murder occurs. The guests then spend part of the evening playing through the rounds by asking questions given, taking notes and having fun.

A minimum of 7 is required and depending on the game, as many as 50 may be able to play. They can be done in teams or as separate characters. I recommend separate as it’s more fun for the guess as they get to have their own clue cards instead of having to share them in a group.

What are the ages for playing?
They list ages according to difficulty. Average games are ages 14+ but there are games for younger children ages 5+.

What's the difference between "Our Parties" and "Your Parties?"
With "Our Parties," we host the event as a business, we book the location and caterer and we make money off the ticket sales. These parties are setup, planned and run how we want them to go. We sell by ticket.
With "Private Functions," we are still there to host it, but you can play as the host if you want. We still setup the game area, but you setup the food and location (unless you've paid us to do so). You pay us a flat rate which covers time and supplies, in addition to $3+/person (depends on game - most are $3), and $0.30/km and any expenses we may expect to incur like a hotel stay if it's a ways to drive, etc. A deposit is required to book a date and is non-refundable. Most games cost us $150+ and we are unable to return them if you change your mind. Deposit depends upon the game, destination, etc.

Have a staff party, birthday party, Christmas, Halloween, or just a fun night at home? Why not let us hold one of these for you? Don't see what you are looking for? Contact us. Bookings need to be at least 2 weeks in advance. In some cases, we may not be able to take bookings for certain dates.

What do you provide at this price?
- All game pieces required (clues, props, etc.)
- For murdered victims: A ghost shawl, face paint (optional), crime scene props, and halo for the victim.
- We have a policeman’s hat, gun, and badge for use for any policemen.
- We have awards which we frame for the winners of “Best Costume,” “Best Actor,” “Victim,” and “Best Sleuth.”
- We also take photos which you are welcome to have copies of.
- We also provide everyone with a small trinket in memory of the event.
- We host the game and keep it running for you the whole time.
- We plan the characters and can send out the email invitations to your guests or provide you with a fillable PDF to email out to each person.
- Character name tags to use during the game.
- A schedule for the event, tailored to meet your needs.
Do we have to rent a place or hire a caterer?
No. You can have it all at your place, rent your own, provide your own food/drinks, etc. The games do not even need to include a meal. I will tailor the timeline according to what you need.

What themes are available?
Halloween, Christmas, St. Patrick’s Day, Easter, Thanksgiving, Mardi Gras, New Year’s, Valentine’s Day, Spring and Summer. There are also more costumed games (meaning it’s not normal clothing but clothing for pixies, pirates, etc.) available as well.

Do they have to involve murder?
No. There are plenty of games that don’t include murder, but the murder ones are more enjoyable with the ghost.

Are the murder ones violent?
No. For props, we place a plastic sheet on the ground with what looks like blood splatter (Halloween prop). We then place a “chalk” outline with tape on it and place this on the ground. The victim dresses as a ghost and carries a sign that tells what happened to them. Other than through clue cards and talk, there is nothing violent or gory (nothing detailed, “I was stabbed by XX with a knife in the kitchen”). You wouldn’t want a 5 year old playing though.
